Wetland and Storm Water Impact Study - Federal Way, WA
SNR conducted wetland studies
on a property located in Federal
Way, WA.  A small seep that was
providing the hydrology for the
area did not conform to the
interpreted hydrogeology for the
area.  SNR installed
piezometers on the property to
conduct ground water studies.
These studies included the
collection of ground water
samples for analysis.

Laboratory analysis on the
ground water found high levels
of fecal coliform and also found
E .coli,  phosphorus and boron
which are all indicative of a
sanitary sewage source.
Additional studies confirmed that
the seep source was leaking
sanitary sewage.

Because both the "stream" and
"wetlands" on the property were
found to be from an illicit
discharge that must be
discontinued because this
sewage was discharging directly
into Puget Sound, SNR did not
identify ratable wetland areas to
be present on the property.
